What is Hyaluronic Acid?

  • Hyaluronic Acid is found in our bodies naturally and is what gives our skin a plump and hydrated appearance
  • During the natural aging process, the amount of Hyaluronic Acid decreases in our bodies contributing to wrinkles and sagging skin
  • Hyaluronic Acid holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water
  • Hyaluronic Acid is a gel-like substance and water-holding molecule that moisture binds to
  • Since some Hyaluronic Acid molecules are too large to penetrate the top layer of skin, they remain on top and retain moisture, making your skin look hydrated and plump
  • Many users of Hyaluronic Acid will see a difference in their skin after two weeks of consistent application
What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid, also known as hyaluronan or hyaluronate, is a glycosaminoglycan and hydrophilic (water-loving) molecule that naturally occurs in our bodies. It is found in the skin, hair, eyes, joints, nerves, and connective tissue. Hyaluronic Acid is what gives our skin a plump appearance, but it decreases as we get older. The natural aging process, UV rays, tobacco smoke, and pollution also contribute to the loss of hyaluronic acid in our bodies. Since Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant, it holds water, giving our skin a hydrated appearance. Hyaluronic Acid also holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, which slows the rate at which water evaporates from the skin making it a mega water-loving and anti-aging product.

How Does Hyaluronic Acid Work?

Hyaluronic Acid is a gel-like, water-holding molecule that moisture binds to. Since some Hyaluronic Acid molecules are too large to penetrate the top layer of skin, they remain on top and retain moisture, making your skin look hydrated and plump.

Where Does Hyaluronic Acid Come From?

Hyaluronic Acid can come from animals (cow’s eyes and rooster combs) or from plant sources. Our Hyaluronic Acid is naturally derived from fermented wheat and soy.

What Happens to Your Skin When You Use Hyaluronic Acid?

My personal experience and results with the Hyaluronic Acid I created has been rather fast. I noticed a difference in my skin right away after applying the Hyaluronic Acid. First I applied my botanical face spray, then the hyaluronic acid serum, and followed with a face oil. After consistent use and after about one week, I noticed a major improvement in my skin. My skin definitely looks smoother, much more hydrated, my wrinkles have softened, and friends and family have noticed the results. Studies have shown that after 2, 4, and 8 weeks of use of Hyaluronic Acid that skin structure was finer and skin elasticity significantly improved (Jegasothy, 2014). Everyone’s skin is different and everyone will experience different results, but sticking with something and giving it enough time to work is key in seeing results.

Where to Get Vegan Hyaluronic Acid

I’ve recently developed my Hyaluronic Acid + Frankincense Serum which is made to order since it has a short lifespan of three months. We are using Leucidal Liquid as our natural preservative, which comes from radishes fermented with Leuconostoc kimchii, a lactic acid bacteria that has traditionally been used to make kimchi. My Hyaluronic Acid + Frankincense Serum comes in a 1 oz. glass bottle with a a treatment pump and you can purchase it here.
