Acai berries are grown by a tropical palm tree native to South and Central America. They are small, deep purple berries that grow on the acai (Euterpe oleracea) palm tree. They are very high in antioxidants and amino acids. Acai berry’s pulp is richer in antioxidants than cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, and even blueberries . Acai is frequently used in face creams, serums, and masks to combat a variety of skin concerns ranging from acne to aging. The berries can be used fresh; as an extract in either alcohol, glycerin, or solvent; or powdered.
As far as anti-aging is concerned, acai berries can do a lot for our skin including slowing down the signs of aging, reducing dark spots, wrinkles, fine lines, sagginess, and discoloration which are due to free radical damage . Antioxidants help fight against free radical damage and acai berry is packed with them. Consuming antioxidants like acai berries can help repair skin and increase cell turnover, which helps us look younger.
